Questions about insurance for virtual assistants

Practical answers for a more useful conversation with a provider.

Will general liability address an administrative mistake?

A client’s financial-loss allegation may raise professional liability questions rather than premises liability. Describe the mistake scenario and ask how the proposed policies respond.

Are overseas clients automatically accepted?

No assumption should be made. Declare client countries, contract jurisdictions and subcontractor locations, then ask about territory and jurisdiction wording.

Does a client’s cyber policy protect my business?

It may primarily protect the client. Ask how responsibility is allocated in the contract and what your own policy addresses when your access is involved.

Does sending an enquiry buy insurance?

No. It asks the network team to respond. Only a suitable provider can confirm an offer, acceptance and the effective insurance arrangement.

Can I enquire from Canada or the United States?

Choose your actual country and province, state or territory. Provider availability and eligibility depend on the market; sending an enquiry does not establish acceptance.

What should I leave out of the form?

Leave out medical records, government IDs, payment details and policy documents. Share general needs here; use a provider’s secure process if sensitive records are later required.
